I'm a late bloomer - I had never even touched a horse up until 9 years ago, but I've certainly made up for lost time! Luckily my husband, Grahme, is a pretty handy horseman and provides me all the support that I need. More often than not you'll see me at the end of a lead, rather than in a saddle. However I've been known to give riding a go every now and again. Up until recently I was the very proud "Mum" of Quirran Lea Chucky Lena, but I now have a foal "GMS Everlasting Copy" (pend) to keep me busy as well as my husband's 2yr old black tobi filly "Quirran Lea Smokin Honey'. I'm a very proud and passionate AO and am dedicated to making a difference. Feel free to approach me for a chat when you see me around - no doubt at a show somewhere

I have been involved in horses since I was 15, my first one being a quarter horse gelding. A friend introduced me to the world of western performance and I haven't looked back! I bought my first paint in 2004 - a weanling filly and since then have made some great friends with the paint horse people. After a few years of having no horse to show I finally have my next show horse and really look forward to showing and catching up with my show family. I am very passionate about my fellow AOs and look forward to helping out where ever I can. Feel free to drop me a line and say g'day or come over for a chat if you are showing.

I have been riding since I was 7 and owned horses since I was 13. They are a huge part of who I am. I have been lucky enough to own & show some wonderful Paint mares since 1992. My most memorable achievement in Paints is having been fortunate enough to be able to compete and to win Hi Point Amateur of Australia 3 times. The first and second time riding the mother of the mare I won it with the 3rd time! I have had tremendous enjoyment showing over the years and forming friendships within the industry and feel it is time to give back to an Association that has given me so much pleasure.I look forward to helping motivate others to experience the same enjoyment.

I've been riding horses since about 8 years old. I started out in Pony Club and moved onto riding mostly English disciplines, where I showed at National level in Dressage and Showjumping. I caught the bug for Paints when I had Karalinga Kincaid - probably about 10 years ago now. Back then we attended our first National Show and haven't missed one yet! I'm always up for a chat. Feel free to introduce yourself if you see me in your travels.

I have been riding in the western performance arena since for 27 years and my family have always bred Quarter Horses and Paints. I have been so blessed to have ridden some amazing Paint Horses over the last three decades and have been successful at state, national and international level. To this day, I am passionate about the breed and discipline of Western Performance and to the advancement of our Association in every way. Please feel free to introduce yourself when you see me or email and voice any concerns or ideas that you may have. I was around for the "old days" when there was a certain camaraderie amongst competitors that made going to a show, like hanging out with your family and best mates. During this time, competition was fierce and the numbers in each class soared. As your representative, I am advocating to revive this culture amongst the amateur owners, whilst moving our Association forward in this new era.

I'm just getting back into showing horses from a break of about 15 years. I have always had horses and went from Pony Club to showing and then in 1985 fell in love with Western showing, bought myself a Quarter Horse and haven't looked back. Over the years I have continued breeding Quarter Horses, Quarter Ponies and over the last few years Paints. I love the versatility that being an Amateur Owner offers, having a horse/rider combination that can do many events not just a select few. As my children are still young I have had my show horses with trainers due to lack of time for prepping/showing horses with family and business commitments but now I've decided it's "me" time and I'm going to get back in the saddle and start showing again. I went up to the Nationals this year and put my hand up to help out with Amateur Owners as I'm not a member who can just sit there and leave it up to everyone else to keep things going, I like to be able to have a say in our association. I am looking forward to being involved with showing and helping out in Amateur and Paint classes in Victoria and beyond.

I have been riding since I was about 8 years old and went to my first Western Show in 1981 on a Palouse Pony as my parents breed them. We then started to breed and show Appy's, Quarter horses, Paints and in 1985 I was hi-point youth at the WA State Championships on a friend's paint gelding just 2 weeks after having a accident on a Appy which left me with a nasty injury! In 1988 which was one of my last show before a 20 year break I rode my sister's Paint mare to hi point snaffle bit hackamore horse. I think it is great to see Amateur Owners within the PHAA are finally on the move! I am currently the Secretary/Treasurer for our club over here "Statewide Paint Horse Ass of WA" and have been an Amateur Owner with the PHAA for almost 3 years now. We have just had our Championship show on the 9 of April 2011 where I was awarded High Point AO for the third year in a row. At our B open show that was held on the following day I was also High Point A/O! I ride a 9 year old Paint Bred gelding called Docs Hot Sox and compete in everything from Hunter under Saddle to Reining on him. In the near future I'll also be campaigning a 3 year old paint gelding. I look forward to helping build the status of Amateur Owners Australia wide and would love to hear from fellow AO's.

I was first placed on a horse by my father as 2yo and have never looked back. Each week from a youngster I would save my pocket money to be able to ride at our local riding school in Launceston. My first ever real live horse was a skewbald pinto named 'Panda', you could say I had paints in my blood from then on. I joined pony club and had many years of riding, gymkahanas and shows with Panda until she passed away at the age of 18. I then had the opportunity to ride an appaloosa stallion, 'Brave Wind' and exhibited him at many local and agricultural shows for his owner during the early 80's. After marrying and having a baby daughter, I didn't get that much time to ride until 2000 when my husband was posted to Papua New Guinea. I took on the responsibility of 4 polo ponies and played polo for about 2 years while in PNG. Upon our return to Australia, we purchased our first paint horse, 'Moneyman'. I was fortunate enough to assist at the 2009 Nationals and then exhibited Moneyman at the 2010 Nationals with a Champion and a Reserve Champion to his credit. I served on the PHAA board as a director from 2007-2010 and know full well the passion which is held for our horses. I look forward to meeting as many AO's as I can and look forward to promoting not only paints and AO's but the PHAA as a whole. Feel free to give me a call or drop me a line at any time.

My introduction into the colourful world of Western came about when I started riding for a local QH stud in the early 90’s. Since then I have won National, State and High Point titles with numerous QH’s. Together with my partner Adrian, and son Chayse we currently operate our stud on the outskirts of the beautiful Barossa Valley, Quantum Hill Lodge. We have been very fortunate to lease a lovely Awestriker/Shameless mare to kick start our Paint breeding program in 2011. I look forward to getting to know more PHAA members and helping improve the Amateurs and Paint’s wherever I can.
