personal letters of recommendation from other is helpful but they must
be individual letters i.e. not copies of the same letters signed by
different people.
The PHAA will research the latest information regarding breeder, owner
and horse records for each nominee and may add to the material. Please
keep in mind that horses selected for induction will usually have name
recognition and are well known to the membership.
Review Process
Nominations are due each year by August 1st, to be considered by the
Board of Directors (BOD) at a meeting prior to the Annual General
Meeting (AGM) held during the National Show Week. Successful nominees
will be announced at the AGM.
Nominees will automatically remain under consideration for three
consecutive AGMs, if not selected.
If selected for the Hall of Fame, the owner of the nominated horse,
along with the nominator, will be notified prior to the AGM.
In addition to the normal nomination process, there are two other means
by which an individual can be placed on the Hall of Fame ballot.
- 1. A list of past individuals who were influential to
the growth of the association will be drawn to ensure that older
deserving individuals are not forgotten. The BOD will review the list
each year and may select candidates to be placed on the ballot.
2. Each year a list of individuals will be developed from categories of
accomplishment and will be reviewed for inclusion on the ballot.
Examples of these categories are:
- Notable National Champions and multi
Honour Roll High Point recipients.
- Leading sires and dams of PHAA
champions
- All-time leading point earners
